Major Project: initial Ideas

For Digital Art we are going to create a major project in our subject area. My subject area is Product Design, so I will begin on this post to explore some of the ideas.

 

I have been thinking about this for a while. As I explored different ideas, I decided that a drawing table would be one of the best options. However, I have always had trouble finding one that suits my needs. One of the problems I face is the lack of storage space at the right height. Also, the look of modern tables doesn’t appeal to me, vintage ones have a soul.

While creating my designs, I like to work with many layers, as it makes it easier to correct mistakes or redo and reshape elements to the perfect form, especially if I can use backlight. A large illuminated area will help with the job on many levels.

Moreover, more space, including armrests, might be a game changer. Reshaping the working area will create a more comfortable environment, bringing everything closer, providing a sense of connection, improving aerodynamics, and offering a greater workspace.

I need to explore these ideas further, however, as initial thoughts, I quite like some of the concepts here. In my next post, I’ll be carrying out research for my project, which will help me refine and develop the final concept.
