One of my two ideas for the playground equipment for this term project is gondola swing. Its my favourite swing after of course long rope swing in woods on big tree standing on the top of the hill (that feeling when I was looking down and see that massive drop is still in back of my head). However, I didn't see them for years and this could be a great time to bring them back. Those I was using in past wasn't safe as we would like, there wasn't even a bar to hold to, so in my first thought make it safe for all. I came with idea from theme parks to use a cubic seat with overhead harness, this way it could be utilised in public park rather then straps or belts which could be cut out.
Second thought to make it 4 seater, for small and bigger person, whatever if its young adult or child with parent on one side and that is show on the sketch, with other two on opposite side, crossing over for better balance. However, after longer consideration I came to conclusion that larger chair should be comfortable for both child and adult.
In next step I was working on design of the seating area as previous sketches didn't go well with Earthy Delight style and shape I was working on of the water drop. I went through few option of the idea which version could be visually pleased where the seats creating the water drop or back rest is visualisation of the liquid crown.
Also bringing the view of the pure idea out uncover its beauty., water drop closed in the larger one where part of the rubber lining is in shaped into rounded part of the drop seen from specific angle.
Okay, so now follow up with a more finished sketch of the design idea you have chosen.
